The Southern Maryland Ski Club is a Not-For-Profit organization that promotes outdoor winter sports, mainly skiing. We are located in the Waldorf and St. Charles area of Charles County Maryland. You don't have to live in the area to join our club. The club is for ALL LEVELS OF SKIERS from beginners to experts and is for families, couples, and singles. Our Club is an active member of the Blue Ridge Ski Council (BRSC), which is made up of many local ski clubs and professional ski associations from Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Membership in the BRSC affords all members the opportunities to participate in trips sponsored by other ski clubs within the council. Each year the BRSC sponsors a Western Carnival ski trip and a European Ski Trip. The Club was formed in 1982 by a group of 20 Charles County skiers who shared an interest in recreational snow skiing. The club has now grown to over 100 members consisting of folks from all walks of life and varying ages. The club participates in fund raising activities to support the Charles County Winter Special Olympics. The club is active year round with many Ski and Non-Ski activities. Members enjoy spending time together and helping one another improve their skiing ability.
